�No relationship is ever perfect, but when you truly love each other ... it doesn't have to be.� 

This is not your ordinary romance novel since it was written by a man (we all know women and men write romance somehow differently) and was not even intended to be a romance novel. But it kind of still is. Love...From Both Sides is a humorous novel that will make you laugh even if you try not to. 
Actually, now while I'm writing it, I get the feeling this novel doesn't even need to be presented in a review to make people want to read it. It suffices for you to open the book and read a line or two - and you'll be tempted not to buy two copies right away. On for you to immediately destroy with your tears of joy and one for later.



Love...From Both Sides describes the "methodes" Jamie and Laura use, before they meet each other, to find a person to spend their lives with. The say yes to blind dates and not so smart people they friends and family members try to match them with. 
But sometimes it just seems the whole universe is against the idea of them finding love, because the people they meet are even crazier than they are. 
Even when they finally do meet each other - there are some serious but oh so hilarious obstacles that stand in their way.


There are no rich, above average, handsom guys and equally beautiful ladies in this novel. It's not aiming to impress.
Nope, here we're reading about real life people, like you and I, who learn how to love and make many mistakes in the process.
While considering reading it, I admit, the novel seemed interesting because it was written by a guy. Normally, the ladies are the one who write about finding love, so it was interesting for me to read how a women's POV would look like from men's POV. But also, do men think about love the way women think they think?

So that's why I decided to comment on the way Jamie is functioning in this novel, and see what exactly is happening in a head of a guy seeking love.
There's a common belief that men think about sex very regulary, if not too much - and as it turns out in this novel - that's true.
But I've also learned that they think about other, more important things too - but it does make them suffer to be forced to make the effort. Some of those things are about having to buy new boxer briefs, the need for the new furniture for the living room (it ends by him buying the chouch, the tv and a shelf, and by me asking about was there even anything in that living room to begin with), and for a 7 ft tall ficus (and that did not make me think about how he maybe bought the giant plant to compensate for another smaller thing he has to live with).


My worries about furniture died when I realized the guy also has no kitchen table, because, what's the point of me stressing? It only proves he likes to think about existencial problems when it's really necesary. In any other situation, that's what he has women for ??
I've also read that he would do or say practically anything to get a date, pretend to be interested in her life only to get access to the part of a woman's body she wouldn't let him come close to under any other circumstances.
Of course, this are the characteristic of our boy Jamie. I'm not saying the same goes for the entire male population. I'm sure Jamie was created the way he was creted, by his male creator to be used as an exception and not as a reprezentative entity ??

Another one of my conclusions was that men and woman can sometimes read each other minds so easily, while sometimes they cannot even fathom what is happening in the head of the another. 
And last, but probably the most important thing this novel thought me is that, while all of us have this one, most important goal on our minds - to find love - there is one serious problem both genders suffer from: never having anything to wear (read it to understand it ??). 

What this book really is, is a proof that love wins over every flaw and imperfection. We can list an entire collection of our foults, but if it's real, those flaws will be what we love the most in another person. And wthat that special person loves in us.


Read Love...From Both Sides. If there's one page in this novel that doesn't make you want to shake in uncontrollable laughter, let me know, I dare you.
That's how sure I am you will love it.

This week is the most important week in the life of every true bookworm in my country. We're visiting Interliber, the biggest international book fair in Croatia, and I'm having the time of my life working for one of the Croatian publishers, Naklada Neptun. 
The book I'm writing about today is one of the three novels they've published yesterday, 
Any Duchess Will Do by Tessa Dare.



What would you do if you'd wake up and realize you were abducted by your own cunning mother and brought to the place full of young ladies - to find one of them and eventually marry her?

Are you looking for a historical romance novel with a deep story that would make you both swoon and laugh out loud? Well, you've found it.
Tessa Dare does it like no other. She creates characters nobody can resist. Once again, were visiting Spindle Cove, this time to meet Pauline, a girl sweet as a candy, always restless, incredibly brave and loyal. 
Pauline is special in her endeavor to succeed in life, even though, considering the time she lives in, there is no chance she could do it on her own. 

And that's what he likes about her. Griffin didn't even dream about ever meeting a girl like Pauline. As any other arrogant duke would do, he walked into the situation his mother put him into, head held high, too stubborn to be careful. So he was in for a surprise, for a lesson about life and love he would never forget. And it would be delivered by a servant that is everything but ordinary.


Griffin and Pauline will very easily become your two favorite characters by Tessa Dare. The language, the writing style, dialogues and descriptions, all of it screams read me, love me! I'm so happy Croatian readers will be able to enjoy this novel, and I certainly hope you'll give it a chance too.

There is one more novel in this book series, Do You Want To Start a Scandal, one I hope to soon see on our bookshelves, but until then, let's enjoy the one we have in front of us.

I'm a year too late with this one, but you know how they say, better late than never. Finally, I've got the opportunity to read one more novel by Colleen Hoover, and boy, am I not happy to choose It Ends With Us!
There is just so much to say about this book, I don't even know where to start...




Lily Bloom has decided to live a happy life. The adds have, until now, never been in her favor, bus she has managed to finish school and college and move to Boston. Here she had the chance to start her own business and finally took control over her life.
Then she met Ryle Kincaid, the successful, charming and ambitious neurosurgeon who she fell in love with. But Ryle has a flaw - he doesn't do relationships.
It's not always easy to be with him, but there's something else Lily has to deal with - somebody else - Atlas Corrigan, her first love, the man that comes back and brings back old memories.
He was once her protector. Now, he could endanger everything Lily has created with Ryle.


Today we're looking at the Goodreads Choice Awards winner for the best romance novel of 2016. If you have a Goodreads account and read romance novels, I bet you've heard of It Ends With Us. Now it's time for you to read it.

This book is more than just a love story. The author herself would tell you (I've read this in one of her interviews) that she writes about social problems one can find in every type of society, and a love story would somehow just fit into it like a logical part of the bigger picture. For the author, this novel was more than just something she wrote - there are parts of this novel she actually lived herself. It was the most difficult novel she has ever written.


 To create the character of Lily Bloom, she had to interview her mother and then she spend months wondering how the readers would react to the story she has offered. Just like Colleen's mother, Lily Bloom is the proof that the life is full of surprises and only the strongest ones are able to feel compassion.

The readers who have already read some of the novels by CoHo, know that she's the master of deep emotions, unexpected plot twists and amazing heroines.
This is a novel about the feminine strength and bravery. About decisions that change lives. If you read it, this book will change your life too.

When you find something you like, you come back to it, right?
It has been three years since I've read a book by Eloisa James, so I figured it was time for me to indulge in some good historical romance.
Today I'm writing about Desperate Duchesses, the first of nine novels in Desperate Duchesses book series.



Lady Roberta St.Giles falls in love with a duke she never even met. She saw him across the ballroom and knew he was the right man for her. He's intelligent, experienced and calculating. He also has no intentions to ever get married. 
But then something (or someone) happens that makes him realize marriage is exactly the thing he needs. And lady Roberta is exactly the woman that would perfectly suit the role of his duchess.
But the earl of Gryffyn can't really agree. He knows Roberta wouldn't benefit from that marriage and she would never be happy with the duke.
He is, nevertheless, sure that she would be happy with him.
The duke or the earl? Which one will it be?



If you've ever doubted women could multitask, this novel will show you that you have nothing to fear. It takes one woman to make one decision to start a massive chain reaction that would impact the lives of various characters. Did she do it because she was somehow desperate? Or precisely because she wasn't?
Being a part of London high society means one could be many things, but all those people have on thing in common: more than anything, each and every one of them hides his true intentions.

I liked Desperate Duchesses because it showed how different people really are. It shows that our (and those of the character's) intentions are always selfish in a certain matter. Sometimes falseness and mystery are the weapons used by those who want to achieve their goals - but the goals could change at any time - so one should be ready to cunningly adapt to the new situation.



James succeeded to tell us two stories in one single novel and did it so well that we spend the entire novel wondering about what will happen next. Who will end up with whom...

Her characters are people with interesting personalities and that makes her story one of those we all love to come back to. But we are talking about Eloisa James after all. Have somebody ever doubted it could end badly?

Finally, here's Winter's story! He's the character that has intrigued me from the first moment I read about him, so I was reading this novel expecting much and getting even more! Today I'm writing about the Thief of Shadows, the novel number 4 in Maiden Lane series by Elizabeth Hoyt.




It's not easy to be the headmaster of the home for foundling children. It's even more difficult to be the headmaster of a home for foundling children by day and the notorious Ghost of St. Giles by night.
It's very hard. And very lonely.
Lond time ago, Winter Makepeace took a vow of celibacy, one that would assure for him to have no distractions while doing what he has to do, saving those who can't save themselves.
But then came lady Isabel Beckinhall, a widow not shy, nor humble. Her boldness and beauty made him think about more than just revenge and justice. The brave Ghost would soon realize that while fighting to save the innocent, he has lost something, something he gave up freely - his heart to a woman who can save him from his own demons.


I could hardly wait to finally read about the Ghost of St. Giles! I know that the blurb tells us about his identity, but did you guess who the Ghost was before reading it? There actually is another secret regarding the famous person under disguise, but we get to find out that secret at the end of this novel so I'm not planning to tell you what it is.

I love it when the stories I read about hide a secret, one that is dangerous for more than just the two protagonists in question, and Hoyt is here to deliver. I have to admit that (once again), this novel is the best so far and will hope to see more characters as brave and bold as Isabel Beckinhall. The lady seriously rocks!


So, let's repeat to remember. This story (and those before it) is set in 1730s London. It shows us the difference between the poor who survive by begging or stealing and the rich who live unconscious of the way the real world works. By reading, we get to wander the streets of St.Giles, those full of criminals, ghosts and other dangerous vigilantes that are yet to be discovered.

After reading the last few pages of this novel, the only thing I have to say is: damn, I need to read the rest. This will be an interesting fall!

I remember saying, in my review about Raid, that he was my fovourite Unfinished Hero, yet I'm not so sure anymore. Raid was relaxed, funny and playful and now here we have a man different in every way. A man of mystery, of danger. There is a cloud of mist around Deacon that doesn't let us see much about him.
I've also said I liked to see big bad guys falling hard for a girl, and Deacon gave me just that.
So let's see why I liked this novel so much.




Deacon hides quite a hideous past and still lives in the shadow of it. He lives a lonely life, away from everybody and has no intention of changing anything about himself.
He likes to live in places far from civilization so it's no wonder he chooses to stay at some remote cabins in the Colorado Mountains. At her place. 
He soon finds himself lusting for Cassidy Swallow, a young and beautiful owner but knows he can't make a move to get her. He deserves better than him. 
So he tries to stay away and he keeps his distance. Until that one time, he just can't. 
And that is all the opportunity Cassidy needs to make him fall for her completely.


As much as those heroes of ours are brave, though and sometimes a bit mean, they're also just men. Ultimately, they all thrive on understanding, acceptance, and love. The more we read the Unfinished Heroes series, the more serious the novels become. Deacon's personality is maybe the most different from all of the others and that's probably why I liked him so much. Him being so secretive makes us turn the pages and keep wondering about what has happened to him that has made him suffer.
While reading Deacon, I felt like I've just entered into some new world that had nothing to do with the one I got to know with the Knight. Deacon makes us question everything, himself included, every step of the way, and he still manages to steal our hearts. That is the dangerous part about him. As TS would say, he's so bad, but he does it so well ??
Deacon's got balls, self-control anyone should envy him for and likes to have a certain kind of fun in the bedroom.


Ladies, it's time for you to get to know Deacon. 

The only men left for us now is Nick Sebring, and his story should be the most emotional and the sweetest. He's the author's favourite Hero so I do expect him to be special in more than just one way.

Sometimes I get to read a novel (or two) that I would especially like to recommend to my male readers (are there any male readers here? ??) only to be able to lurk over them and ask crazy questions like do you think that's funny, would you agree, etc. I would really like to know what some of the guys would think about Ian's and Lex's game.
Today, let me say a word or two about The Matchmaker's Playbook and The Matchmaker's Replacement.



The Matchmaker's Playbook

 He's the absolute best at what he does and he knows it. Ian is a matchmaker, one of the masterminds behind Wingmen, Inc., the most known dating agency in the country. He's also a player, who can make any girl's heart melt. He knows how a woman's emotions work and makes sure to use it to get what he wants.
He's a Superman.
But every Superman has his own kryptonite.
His kryptonite's name's Blake and she is his client. She wears disgusting Adidas flop plops and clothes that's too big for her and she wants him to help her get the guy she likes.

So Ian's gonna have to make a decision: to break the rules and win the girl for himself or let the only girl he ever loved to get away. Nobody said it would be easy...

 The Matchmaker's Replacement


When you are not allowed to even look in the general direction of the girl you like, that is if you wanna live another day without your best friend killing you in your sleep, you need to find solace in the bed of every other who lets you get in. And still be an asshole about it. 
Right? Right?
Lex knows that what he does is everything but right, but he can't help himself. Gaby is the forbidden fruit he will never be able to touch.
True, he's a handsome and sexy computer genius who made a software that can predict if a relationship between two people has a chance any to work. And that means Wingmen, Inc. will soon need more employees. 
And the first one of them will be his sweet and innocent Gaby. Not only that, but Lex get's to mentor her. 
How will he ever stay away?


I've already said I'd like for guys to read one of these novels just so they could tell me if it's true, do men really think like that? Like Ian? I'm not talking about all of the one night stands you can be proud about, I'm talking about you thinking about all of the details that could make a date with your dream girl the best possible. 

 It fascinates me the way the author has written from the male POV, but it also makes me wonder. Rachel has obviously dedicated quite some time to explore the way people get to seduce the person of their interest, from that first (not so) subtle look, the whole process between the first hello and a first date, and emotions like jealousy and self-confidence, that play a big role in being successful with the one a person likes. I also can't help but be a bit skeptical (which is a result of my reader's experience). I've read quite a few novels written from the male POV and never did those men they pay so much attention to the emotions one needs to feel to fall in love. On the other hand, that makes her characters unique and so hot. It also makes them the best at their job.


The both novels in Wingmen, Inc. series are amazing. They are the perfect example of why I love romance novels so much - because they dive deeper into the complexity of human relationships, show the emotional and physical side of every person, their background and the way the society helped to form their personalities.

These two novels will make you laugh and enjoy witty dialogues, a complicated friendship and even more complex love stories. We get to see the goofy and adorable but also darker sides of the four protagonists.




Ladies, somehow I get the feeling you'd be the ones to read The Matchmaker's Playbook and The Matchmaker's Replacement, so I guess I get to ask you: did you ever use some especially planned tactic to win some guy over? What did you do? Did it work?

It's been a while since I've read the first novel in Brothers Sinister book series and I can't actually believe it took me so much time because the first novel was so beautiful. I'm happy to be writing about the second book, The Heiress Effect, another masterpiece by Courtney Milan.

Jane Fairfield has only one goal in her life and nobody is going to stand in her way. The high society of London can think of her as of a stupid heiress. They can make fun of her. They can believe the worse about her - that's exactly what she wants them to do. They couldn't make her job any easier.

Oliver Marshall has a job to do. Actually, it's not something he has to do, he was rather blackmailed to do it. Oliver was dealing with injustice his whole life and now he has to deliberately hurt another person and that goes against everything he believes in.

How will the excentrical duo fight against the injustice and people who only care about their own personal benefits? Will they get to know yet another enemy in one another or will their union result in more than one kind of victory?



Meet Jane. Jane knows nothing about fashion. No, that's not true, she knows enough to realize her gowns look hideous, but she actually likes them looking awful. Jane is a character whose background explains perfectly her life choices.

Oliver Cromwell is...no, wait. Oliver Marshall is a man who knows how cruel the world really could be. As a bastard son of a duke, he has high ambitions and low chances to ever succeed. He is now faced with a moral doubt that could change his life forever whatever the decision he makes may be.

This is a story of two people faced with everything wrong in this world. Is there any way they could find an out of a risky situation and still make us smile while doing it?


Just like the last novel by Courtney Milan, this one too - besides giving us a nice and warm love story between two very different, but very similar people - takes us on the journey into the 19th century London. Once more we meet two protagonists of high moral values, who think outside the box and fight for an unimaginable cause- the voting right.

Courtney combines a story rich in historical detail and believable romance. Her plot is deep and her scenes are without flaws. There's humor, there's friendship and just enough eroticism to make us continue to read all of it at once. 


If this is your first time reading about some novel by Courtney Milan, I recommend starting with the first book in Brother Sinister book series. You're in for a treat.

Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time since I've started blogging and reviewing books, I've got the honor to review a novel that I've previously been beta-reading. The novel is ready to be published on July 22, so I hope with this review, you will let me say a word or two about it.  
Today, I'm writing about Lost & Found, a debut new adult novel, and the number one in New York Knights series by Croatian indie author Anna B.Doe.

This post brings you a review, an interview with the author and the chance to win one copy of the novel Lost & Found. Enjoy!



If you've ever got the chance to beta-read a novel (find out what beta-reading is here), you know it is, in the same time, a great honor and the great responsibility. You are to give an honest review, to criticize and praise, to look into the smallest detail etc. But the thing is, the novel you're analyzing isn't just a 'book', it's somebody's hopes and dreams you're reading, somebody's open heart you're commenting on. You start to see those novels differently from the ones already published, already read by others. You realize you are special to be chosen to read it, and the novel is special to be, in a way, raw and unpolished, and offered to you as such. That makes you appreciate it more. And when it actually gets published, there's that special kind of feeling- pride.
Today, I'm so proud of Anna. I don't know her personally (we didn't want to get to know each other before reading so our relationship wouldn't influence my reading), but today I'm proud of her.





Anabel is a young student who finds herself wondering about the choices she has made in life. Her life is good, but she just isn't happy anymore. 
That's why Anabel makes a decision to move to USA for a year to work as an au pair.
And she meets him. William Price. 
He has it all. Fame and money. Girls and wealth. 
The only thing he's missing is a Super Bowl ring.
Or not...
They meet and they fall in love.
They finally find each other.
But they come from two different worlds.
Can they stay together or will their love cost them more than they are ready to risk?



After reading only a few pages of Lost & Found, I felt it: envy. That spark of jealousy that made my blood flow faster, made me burn, made me work more, try harder- try to be as good as reviewer as Anna is writer. It was a felling that, ultimatelly, inspired me.

 Anna created a story about growing up and maturing, about the struggles and questions that all of us who lived a college life could relate to, sooner or later. Who am I? What am I? What do I want to be? Who will I disappoint? Is it all worth it?
What do we do after everything we thought we wanted changes? After we lost?
Who will help us find our way?


And then again, this is the story of taking risks. The step into the unknown. So it gets more complicated. The love is born. Yet again, all the plans, everything changes.

I'm Anna's character. You are too. All of us who changed during the time when we were supposed to know what we were doing, we're all Anabel.


This warm, beautiful love story between two young people who weren't happy with the way they lived, will make you question the power of true love.

Anna, you were born in Croatia, and you live here. Why did you decide to write a novel in English?
Writing in English seemed like a logical next step. When I was younger, I've written two YA novels in Croatian, and send one of them to various Croatian publishers, but I've never got an answer from any of them. So unfortunatelly, or luckyly, depending on how you see it, non of those novels were ever published.
After I've read everything there was to read in my local library, I've started reading in English. I've been studiing English since forever, so I said myself: "If not in Croatian, why not try to write in English?" I thoght more people could read my novels that way, and since in Croatia it was impossible to find a publisher, maybe I could succeed as an indie author, so that was what I did. 

Who are your ideal readers?
Everyone is. My book is for all of those who like to read. It's a New Adult novel about two people trying to find their place in this world.

Can we expect the novel to be published in paperback?
The ebook will be available on Amazon and Kindle Direct Publishing and the paperback on CreateSpace :)  

Is there anything you would recommend for the new aspiring authors?
Honestly, I don't know what to say. It's very hard to find a publisher here in Croatia. But I believe every story should be told, and there are many ways for people to share them with the world (blogs, Facebook, Wattpad...).

Are you planing any project related to the publishing of Lost & Found?
I don't have any official plans right now, since this whole situation is so new to me right now, but I'm always open for suggestions. 


What was the hardest part of making this novel see the light of day?

Definitely editing. I'm a perfectionist so I couldalways find a thing or two that should somehow be changed or made better. Besides, Lost & Foundis my first novel written in English, so I had a few problems with finding the right way to express the thing I wanted to say.

As an author and a book lover, you must have met many people that share your love for literature. Could you count on their support and help while writing this novel?
It's very hard for an author to share their work with other people. I can rarely say I'm 100% happy with what I write. I can be satisfied with a chapter or with a character, but will never be completely happy with the whole novel. There are always doubt and insecurities about different kind of things, descriptions, dialogues et. So it's always useful to hearanother opinion. You and Nina (Life of a Bookworm) were of great help with the comments you've send me. So were some of my friends who have read the book or listened to me continuously talk about it. But I was really positively surprised with how bloggers and other authors werealways ready to help. All of them invited me into their society open handedly.
